I came across this point-on video recently and deemed it totally worth sharing. We need to escalate the urgency of this conversation - as we grapple with increasing evidence of endemic corruption at every level of our private and public institutions.

I've been listening to Jpop, in an attempt to dose the holiday blues with some Japanese "cute." In the process, I've discovered an interesting new project that pairs really artistic animated graphics with electronica and occasionally the sound of traditional Japanese folk music. Very unusual. Very cool. Omodaka.

Mary Roach, author of "Bonk," delivered this almost 20 minute presentation for the TED conference. TED videos never cease to wonder and amaze. Just when The Author figured orgasm was already well understood and documented, this comes along. There's some new information here, guaranteed. And it is so funny and engaging - if you're a bit of a brainiac and unencumbered by primitive moral taboos. Watch and enjoy. Or don't. That's the thing about choice.

Rainin in Paradise

It's definitely Rainin in Paradise. That goes for the weather outside my office window, and as a statement on the condition of our planet. It is also the title of the first single released from Manu Chao's September 2007 Disc, La Radiolina. Chao, arguably the hippest world beat musician on the international stage, blends liberation, a left-leaning point of view, and a variety of musical styles to create a rhythmic and infectious sound.
